I don't ever dare tell my wife <laffin> but I'm wondering what a 1st Ed. set of every major set (minus DB1, DB2, TPs, Promos) goes for on the open market? Anyone ever seen such a thing for sale and what it went for?
While I'm not a collector that collects and then sells for profit....I can't help but wonder how much I've got sitting in my binders if I needed some finances for a project, crazy money, (gulp...braces for my youngest son) etc.
I know I've seen people who play in the Chicago area that make a pretty nice profit just collecting an entire 1st Ed. set and reselling it.
I suppose I'm enough of a player / collector (as well as judge) that it's part of the fun of the gaming experience....that I don't think I could bring myself to sell like that. I really enjoy being able to flip the pages and look at every single card....that's what I do when I know there SHOULD be a card that fits in deck X but I can't think of it.
