If you look at the latest SJC top 8 decks, you barely see this card. I mean, about the only deck that runs it is either Demise OTK or ChainStrikeBurn.

Almost, or all Monarch decks takes this out. (DDT, it's totally understandable, as Scapegoat just clogs the field needed for Dimension Fusion) I mean, back before the Gadget days, (i.e. Apprentice Engine Monarch days) every Monarch decks ran Scapegoat. I understand the reasoning for adding GK Spy and Jujitsu Master instead of Apprentice, but I still don't get why the lack of Scapegoats.

Is there a good reason why mutton wall is not so great anymore?

If I had to take a guess, i'd say that it would be because of the aggresiveness of decks we are witnessing nowadays, most decks fill the field up with 2 - 3 monsters in a turn.

But then again it is just a guess.

Not to mention, with Enemy Controller being common, and more people running it, it is pretty nasty to have your goats whomped face first. IMHO. There are also more piercing cards being played (Cyber End....OUCH!), I know I only like to play it when I have a couple of Dimension Walls to reflect, just in case.

I think its more the fact that unless you are actually using Enemy Controller or Creature Swap like cards, the Sheep Tokens just end up clogging your field from "real" monsters, especially if your opponent chooses NOT to attack a Token, leaving you with all 4.

and let's not forget a card that a lot of people are side-decking, Asura Priest (that's Chinese for "sheep killer"...lol)

i also think the rise in popularity of hydrogeddon had a lot to do with it....

Why's that? Hydrogeddon can only special summon another copy if the destroyed monster is send to the graveyard ;)

:redface me thinks i've been hosed a few times.... thats what i get for not reading opponents card text...ah well... live and learn... :p
