this forum used to be more..... [ACTIVE] back in the day. what happened?

ive been looking at some posts and theyre over 6 months old etc...

Well, I think it was when they had that long period of maintenance. The site was offline for a while, and with the attention span of today's....Hey, that's a pretty flower.... anything more than a week and it's "Hey what's this." Add to that UDE coming up with its own "Official YuGiOh! Rulings Forum" at that same time (not an issue any more), it made the reliability of the Judges here (one thing we always had over the other sites) superfluous. Still, the true blue are here. And probably always will be.

At least, that was my observation. Even though some of the other sites have cleaned it up a bit (mod-wise), I still think this is the most mature and respectful (thereby living up to its cognomination-pun intended) community around! It's my home. Anywhere else is just a visit.

It goes in spurts, too. But there are quite a few tried and true members that you'll always find around. Also, if anyone has had anything remotely similar to what's been going on with me, things have gotten really busy in the real world. Not enough time for the cyber world as much. At least, for now. :ninja:

well, with all the mass confusion with yugioh these days, I have no idea whats going on. Is there still tournaments going on? Is Konomi running them? Am I still a Judge? I just threw my UDE card away, and I haven't bought any new cards since two series ago.

Well, this may be a topic for another thread, but to answer....here goes (Please note: the opinions expressed here are soley based on personal observation and in no way represent Konami or its subsidiaries opinions, views or are to be construed as official news or information form same). Yes, Konami has taken completely over and things are finding their equalibrium. Having said that, there are still some things being ironed out. For the 2009 Nats (seeing how all the UDE Invites were scrapped) they held massive amounts of Regionals all over with the top 32 getting invites. Att he 2010 Regional at Nats, they only took the top 16....still an exceptional amount considering the old way of doing things. We shall see what they do at GenCon, if it is any different, and I will report back here.

Meanwhile, Kevin and Julia are working themselves to the bone trying to requalify judges and get the OP Judge system organized, as well as working with TOs and scheduling venues, etc. In the mean time, they are left with the judges they know and trust and the recomendations they give. Believe me, it is not a favorites thing, it is an availability thing, a "go with what you know" thing. A generic judge call was issued for GenCon asking for many volenteers for many functions (judging or not), I don't know how it went out, but many received it who I did not know where on any list. It may take a little while yet before things settle down.

In the mean time, you may see some things run a little more like Japan. Sneak Previews done at card shops, rather than a large event run by a PTO, as in times past. At least, that is how I've noticed it different for the last two Sneaks and I don't see it changing for this weekend either. Please be patient. YuGiOh! is a big ship and it takes time to turn it.

For now, keep your eyes peeled for judge test announcements. Show up to events and make yourself known to the head judge, who may or may not have information, but can at least note your interest and forward it on (chances are, if you have worked events before you know who they are). Maybe when things calm down after GenCon (give it at least a wek) you could e-mail Julia and express your interest in judging again (her email adress is easy to find if you care enough to look, so I won't post it).

Seconded. Clueless and wandering, I wandered in here. I occasionally read other forums, but never post in them, only here. People here know how to be polite....

I don't know, but I can definitely say this site is no longer the same after the look and format changed.

Didn't really change anything, other than the skin and a few toys to play with. The skin had to be changed for the upgrade, or we were going to run into some problems with the forum script being outdated, as it is on some forums.

Well, if someone hears anything about re-testing, do a thread shout out and certainly let me know. Been getting back in and you know me: it's either ALL or NOTHING....right now, I'm in ALL mode. So anything I can contribute to help COGOnline along (again) - just shoot me an email/PM. Glad to see familiar faces. :)

I guess deep down inside, I was never really gone! :D
Heard from Bishop?

I recently friended him on Facebook. He makes philosophical, well thought out postulations on his status updates, and I make sarcastic comments on them. There's sort of a rhythm to it.

ive been beyond busy. Thou recently since ive been doing R&D for my MPCG ive been playing Yugi and other CCG's just for the sake of research. I dont even invest much money on anything. Hey i even noticed naruto has become a dirt cheap game. which surprises me cause that game was and is amazing. but honestly once your deck is solid you rarely if ever want to change it.
