look at his effect ..... When you Normal Summon this card, and during each of your Standby Phases, select 1 Set card on your opponent's side of the field. Pick it up and look at it, then return it to its original position.

see through you we can.... pick it up and look at it... the effects aren't activated, its like seeing through them to their intentions...
 
All no. And it seems like you got progressively further away from the actual answer there. Stick with the Patroid/Wdjat thing, but make it a Yoda instead of a Kenobi.

Exactly. Yoda all over, isn't it? To an extent, even his appearance is similar.

The line I was searching for was, "See through you we can", a hint to his effect. My telling you to try again was another reference pointing to Yoda, with his, "Do. Or do not. There is no try".

Then there was this clue, one no one seemed to look at. Who's The Stern Mystic? Spellcaster / Light / 4 Stars. S/L/F. A little obscure, I'm sure, but I'd hoped with the slashes you might have thought about looking in, say, Ronin for the answer.

Wrinkly forehead, pointy ears? Guess I forgot he had so much hair, though. But still, his powers are comparable to the Jedi Master's.
