YGO Card Name Game

Ding ding ding! We have a winner.

The answer is Guardian Kay'est. Allow me to explain why:

Listen carefully, and don't get defensive. Let's play baseball. I can pitch, trust me. Or we can play hockey. I'm a great goalie.
This points to the number reference, which TsunamiArmy figured out to be 6 and 9.

I think you guys are looking at the sports references a tad too literally, k?
K = Kay, as in Kay'est.

It's more of a numbers game.
Referring to the numbers of the players on the teams.

Perhaps the numbers in baseball and/or hockey have more to do with it.
As I already said, 6 and 9.

6 players on a hockey team at one time are allowed on the ice, 9 players on a baseball team are allowed at one time on the field. The numbers 6 and 9 will be helpful in solving this riddle. It's that Type of logic that you may find useful.
That 'Type' of logic... I'll explain more below.

6 and 9, guys. 6 and 9. That's the type of stuff you should be looking at.
There are 6 monsters with 'Guardian' in their name that require a particular Spell card to be active. There are 9 monsters that are of Sea Serpent-type. Guardian Kay'est meets both of those.

What does a baseball pitcher and a hockey goalie have in common? Or more specifically, what do they have to do with a YGO card. It may help to think what the role of the pitcher and goalie are to their respective sport, and what they strive to not let happen.
This will be answered down below.

The clues aren't meant to be malevolent or underhanded. Rather, they are to protect the identity of the card from random guesses.
Malevolent = Sinister, as in Sinister Serpent. Protect = Guard, as in 'Guardian' [/abstract]

Think about this. A goalie's job is to stop as many shots as possible. This is an easier task if you have less shots to face. Or better yet, no shots at all.
Goalies guard the net. What Guardian is well-protected? Kay'est, because she is unaffected by Spell cards.

A pitcher's job is to not allow hits. This is an easier task if you have a good defense around you. Or better yet, a pitcher is so good that batters can't even hit the pitches.

This refers to how Guardian Kay'est cannot be an attack target. I don't know about you, but a pitcher that cannot be hit sounds pretty good to me.

The best offense is often times a good defense. Any monster you can think of like this? And that somehow ties 6 and 9 (or 9 and 6) into this?

Referring again to the classification Kay'est holds as a Guardian that is a Sea Serpent.

Eventually, you guys are gonna clear out the pool so this will be the only monster left. It's not going to take an arsenal to flush it out, will it?
'Clear out the pool' = a WATER monster. 'arsenal to flush it out' = Arsenal Summoner, which can flush out a 'Guardian' monster from your Deck to your Hand. Flush is also an indirect reference to WATER.

Phew, that was a long one. Take it away, Jason.

You and I ought to monopolize this game. You do remember it was my turn before, right? That's just friggin' awesome. <high five> You did a good one there. And I don't mean that the way it sounds.

It's like something that is the opposite of the opposite of complex, and something you might get from a horse. The problem is, I hate cleaning.

Wait... That didn't make any sense at all...

Mmmm... Cost Down? (reading of a horse trojan came in mind...:haveaday_)

edit: never mind that... getting and same are diffrent... BUT I was thinking... if you COULD get it from a horse, and it's a monster... could you get it from trojan horse or Kaiser Sea Horse? Or maybe Nightmare Horse... hmmm...

Could it be Reaper on the Nightmare?

No. To all.

...and come to think of it, that "horse" clue could probably be reworded to refer to a mule instead, or at least that would be a little more realistic.
