Yu-Gi-Oh! Cartoon Questions

I do not watch the Yu-Gi-Oh! Cartoon on a regular basis. Sure I know who Kaiba and Pegausus are. I know there's like this eveil biker duelist and I've seen the guy who dresses llike street gangs encourage exposed mid-rifts on dudes. But other then that I don't know any of the minutia related to Yu-Gi-Oh! or its spin-off. So here are a few basic questions I would like answered. Nothing in depth, just need the basics.

For example, I know the Duel Monsters cards are inserted into the Duel Thingamajigger and the monsters are created virtually. Does the cartoon explain who manufactures these cards and it accessories? If so, who?

I see Shadow Realm episodes and don't really have a clue as to what it is. I've always gotten the sense that the monsters are supposed to be real in some respect, possibly from this realm, but I'm just hypothisising.

I've always assumed YamiYugi is when the Pharoah takes control of Yugi. Am I wrong? Also what is the Pharoes real name and does Yugi have a last name.

Lets see, they call him Grandapa, but I assume he has real name as well. Could you give me a list of the main cast of characters. Basically everybody that always stands on the sidelines yelling "You can do it, Yugi!".

I don't really want to know the details of Kaiba and Pegasus and Mochacocha or whatever his name is. But if its nevcesaary to explain to me the relationship between these two and Yugi without getting too lengthy, I would appreciate it. If it's one of those questions that has to have a lengthy answer, well then I'll just deal with it. ;)

Lastly, I get the sence there are a bunch of coprerations in this cartoon. Kaiba Corp and whatnot. Could you list them all for me


Basically thats it. I'm going to use the info for something. I'm not going to use all of it, but it will help in the direction I need to go. You'll also get to see what I'm using it for here shortly. Thanks for you time.

Yes. Pegasus discovered the ancient stones with the monsters in them, and 'translated' them into the cards.
Kaiba manufactures the technical equipment etc.

From what I understand of it, that the Shadow Realm makes all the things alive, doesn't matter or their nature is good or bad.

You are right. The Pharoes name? Yami Yugi ;) Yugi Moto is Yugi's full name.

Grandpa = the grandfather of Yugi (don't know his name though)
Yugi Moto = the 'main character', holder of the Millenium Puzzle
Yami Yugi = the 'locked-away' pharaoh inside the millenium puzzle
Bakura = friend of Yugi, holder of the Millenium Ring
Téa (last name unknown) = friend of Yugi
Joey Wheeler = friend of Joey, duelist
Thief Bakura = locked away in the Millenium Ring, when the Pharaoh lived he tried to steal his items
Seto Kaiba = eternal opponent of Yugi
Maximalium Pegasus = holder of the Millenium Eye, producer of the cards, millioniare
Marik Ishtar = holder of the Millenium Rod, (former) leader of the Rare Hunters
Ishizu Ishtar = holder of the Millenium Chain, sister of Marik
(there are some more, which I can't remember)

Mochacocha?... can't explain him, because I don't know him. Pegasus tries / tried to take over Kaiba Corps Inc.

Kaiba created the Duel Disk and the whole 3D system thing.

Shadow Realms is basically where the lost souls go after someone loses in a Shadow Game.

The Pharaohs name is Yami, YamiYugi is the name of Yugi and Yami combined, YuGi "Moto".

I seem to have heard Grandpa Moto's name once, can't recall though.

mochacocha LOL!!!

Mokuba and Seto are brothers, who took over a multibillionaire company owned by Gosaburo Kaiba. Pegasus is the Duel Monsters Creator, everyone is just going after Yu-Gi because he's the World Champion.
Lastly, I get the sence there are a bunch of coprerations in this cartoon. Kaiba Corp and whatnot. Could you list them all for me

wow bro you really never seen the full story. here are some answers.

1. Card manufacturer = Industrial Illusion, Virtual Arm and Software = Kaiba Corp
2. Your correct. Basically its a more realistic game where you use your body and Mind physically to controll the creatures, Basically going shadow means becoming a real wizard.
3. Your right. Pharaoh name = Atem. Motou Is Yugi's last name.
4. Grandpa does have a real name, I forgot what it is. The other characters are Joey, Tea, Tristan. [main 3] the remaining are Rebecca Hawkins, Duke Develin, Mai Valentine.
5. Kaiba Makes the Virtual Software that Pegasus uses for his game. Thats the tie in. The little kid Mokuba is Kaiba's Younger Sibling. thats all.
6. Kaiba Corp, Industrial Illusion, ???[this one you only hear about once During the KC Cup],
 
If you still care I'm pretty sure the Grandfather's name is Truesdale. Never heard the last name but I could only assume Moto (given that it's Yugi's last name).

But Truesdale was the Japanese name, right? Didn't they translate it to Solomon for the English version? That's what Digital is asking, anyway (Téa is actually Anzu in the original Japanese, and he made no mention of that, so presumably he doesn't want to know about the Japanese version).
 
Solomon is the english name and Truesdale is the japanese name.

anzu, honda, jonouchi, Malik, Isis, etc... are all the japanese names.
 
Yugi's grandpa's Japanese name is actually Sugoroku. For whatever reason, Truesdale is his name in the NA releases of the GBA games.

I could probably go on a rant about how the hackjob on Kids WB ruins much of what's in the original version but I'll save that for some other time.

If you want a good site to learn about the changes, though, www.yu-jyo.net gives detailed descriptions on the episodes and explains the differences between the Japanese and American versions of them.
 
The Shadow Realm is like the Twilight Zone. It's where what you imagine and what is real switch. Where imaginary monsters play with real people, etc.
 
Typing in the shadow realms?? is that even alound? I though one just wondered the dark worlds toungless and mindless, with only a pencil in hand.
