Anime???

I've just seen the 1st episode of the anime Nana and it left a pretty good first impression, but you can really see it's just meant as a prologue, since the 1st epsiode is one big flashback to how the main character came to tokyo and found a place to live.

The graphics are different from the anime I usually watch (like Suzuka, Love Hina, Ichigo 100% and Rec) and it looks more like Blood+ and Akira, so it is a bit more to the artistic style instead of the usual "mainstream" kind of artwork.

I can't wait until I can see episode 2 ^_^

I've also read that there also is a movie based on the same manga, so I think I'm going to watch that one also.

Have anybody of you seen the first episode or the movie, or read the manga?
 
One ive been watching on shoutcast tv lately is Fate Stay Night. Its only been subbed up to episode 14 so far but its sweet. i cant wait to see how it all pans out. only 10 more eps to go. I cant wait.

just a side point, what do people think of american dubs?
me - they mostly suck. like naruto.
naruto sucks.

the dub of fullmetal alchemist can be good at times, little subtle sentences that you get about 2 seconds later and laugh like hell about. like ed saying "he (mason) just loves to **** me off" - i cracked up when he said that. and the tender moments havn't been lost in translation.

but one pieces' and naruto's dubs suck. naruto sucks full stop actually...
 
i don't think that they get lost in translation i think that it would have been changed due to censorship but thoose moments are good though!!!
 
yeah, but some of the straight-from-japan stuff can be a little odd in the subtitle department, i have 2 different versions of senki makai disgaea, the translations are completely different but stay on the same track (if you get what i mean) in the meaning.

that's very true the only other thing you can do in that situation is order it on the internet(if you have access) and going by the ones i've seen it costs a fortune to order over the internet!!!
 
has anyone else here watched howl's moving castle and if so what do you think of it? personally i like it!
 
My number one favorite anime would have to be Inuyasha, but there are a few others that peak my interest as well. I prefer to watch animes that are not touched, I don't like the fact that so many of the animes lately are losing their originality to dubbing
 
it's terrible when they do that, it like yu-gi-oh tv series they've dubbed that to be honest i prefer the books to the tv series since it hasn't been change
