I understand what everyone one is saying. I understand that before hitler it was a style and now everyone associates the style to hitler.

What I'm saying is that most people nowadays don't see this, I was approached by 5 players to ask my opinion on the card... they think it's a hilter stash and they think it's cool. That is my point.

BTW, Monster Recovery looks nothing like a swatstika
 
I would normally side with the majority here. But who exactly is the majority? If 5 people, without provocation, concluded in their minds that there is a resemblance to Hitler, surely there must be SOME resemblance? Or are we all just a bunch of paranoid racist morons?

People see what they want to see. If anyone personally finds anything "cool" associated with Hitler, we have a much deeper issue here.

There was nothing cool about Hitler before the Holocaust, and certainly the only thing good that monster ever did was cease to exist.

Anyway, it's just a style and may not even be a mustache on Pot of Avarice. People associate Bald, Shaved Heads with Skinheads. Does that make everyone who is Bald a potential race hater???
 
you missed my point. My point is that it doesn't matter what my opinion on the cards is. It doesn't matter that there is or is not a purposeful resemblance to hitler in the card.

if in someone's mind someone thinks the card looks like hitler then it doesn't matter that it doesn't. We have people playing with cards that they think looks like hitler and think it's cool.

How did I miss the point??? I said people will see what they want to see... Sounds like I aGreed with you and only punctuated it with the fact that anyone who associates Hilter with the word "cool" has problems.
 
Right, Exiled, that's what I was saying. Regardless of whether you or I think it looks like Hitler, SOMEONE apparently does. That warrants thought, IMHO.

I was in the middle of responding to pssvr and you went and posted before I did... you didn't miss the point at all

Also, I'm not saying people who "associates Hilter with the word "cool" has problems", I'm saying it IS an issue.
 
It sounds like a maturity issue. What were the ages of the 5 people who confronted you?

This sounds like the same thing when kids snicker over the picture of Injection Fairy Lily, or talk about how awesom the newest movie was when someone got shot or blown up.

The extremist attitude of these childish remarks fuels other extremist attitudes of those who freak out over the connotations to Demons and Angels, or how monsters and effects are "destroyed, killed, etc"

I wonder if those people that plauged exiledforcefreak also wore the uniform of nonconformity (thats an oxymoron!): black shirts, baseball caps, long hair, and/or earrings. Any skull decorations or tatoos being displayed? Let's lynch em! <sarcasm>:)

Honestly, the more attention given to the subject will just encourage more people to consider the idea and give it creedance. Let it alone and it will die.

If there were a consistent pattern being displayed, then I could understand some concern. But when a handful of cards out of thousands is marked for scrutiny, its a little farfetched.
 
I think they did it that way on purpose... so they can say it LOOKS NOTHING LIKE HITLER.... I can tell you this though... Groucho Marx's Mustache was thicker, Hitler had his tiny, like the pic.... I agree it DOES look like the genie , but maybe the mustache is a subtle subliminal..... hahhahahahah......this thread is crazy....

No. Hitler's is clearly at least the full width of his nose. Jar of Avarice's is just a little spot on his face.

And don't rag on IFL. I like that artwork, and she's one of my favorite cards. (y'hear that, DarkMagicUser? Take good care of her)

Crazy people or those looking to get attention (yes I'm talking to those who think Hitler is cool because it makes other people upset) are going to find something to demonize in practically anything. It is usually best to pat them on the head and tell them to go away. Any more attention to the subject just gives them what they were after.
 
Pot of Avarice does look like Oliver Hardy. Garshq! Oh and I'm not sure who compared Hitler to Groucho Marks, but in case that was confusion, I compared him to CHarlie Chaplin. In facte CHarlie portrayed a mock version of Hitler called Hinkle in a movie that was released right around the time of the War. I'm can't quite remember but I think he pulled it from theaters himself after the nation at large found out what was REALLY going on in Hitler's Labor Camps. Something like that. Can't quite remember the specifics.

so not only was Hitler UNCOOL... but he was a poser too... copying style from years before... what a poser... no wonder he couldnt rule the world... who did he think he was Napolean? He wasnt even short enough... hahaha... Jar of Avarice doesnt look like a Poser card to me.... It looks like a card that does things its own way..... like the Uber Cool Chaplin... (not Marx) .. Ok... My caffeine is here, and Im going to go see if I can figure out the Card game hint.... bye ... hahhah
 
And even Neopolean met with annunfortunate end. Seems to be the eventuality of all dictators. I mean, what where any of them thinking? PO enough people to THAT degree and of course there come hunting for your heaD. Humans only stand for so much for so long. It would be differnet if you were Zod or something. And even in his world he had Kal-El to smack some sense into him.
