Can a God Defy Lightning?

Now this is an interesting ruling:

Player A draws Left Leg of the Forbidden One during his Draw Phase. Player A declares victory, since he has the other 4 pieces of Exodia in his hand. Player B responds with Divine Wrath, stating that since Exodia's head is an effect monster, he can use it to negate exodia's instant win condition. I say this is not possible. Am I wrong?

Remember, the official rulebook actually says that if a player has the 5 Exodia pieces, they instantly win the duel.

It's not just an effect, it's a rule. :beef:

No, Exodia is a built-in win condition in the game. The game always* checks the game state to see if a win condition has been completed, and if so, immediately stops the game in favour of the winner. Divine Wrath cannot stop the game.

* not 'always' always - not within effect resolution, for example

BTW: Exodia is in the HAND. Divine Wrath negates on the FIELD.

So acting Divine to stop Exodia is already as impossible as it could be.
Divine Wrath can be chained to any chainable Monster Effect regardless of where the monster is. This is why it can negate Phoenix and Vamp Lord's revival from the Grave, Kuriboh's discard effect, Night Assailant etc.

You can't Divine Wrath Exodia because the effect cannot be chained too.

When are people going to learn that 5 pieces of Exodia in hand are little to none chances stopping it unless their Opponent drew some of the pieces with Graceful Charity.
Ummm... little to none?

People, holding 5 exodia pieces is like the opponent having no LP!! IT'S OVER!! There is no way to stop exodia, period.

You must not have fully read my post. "IF" you have only the 5 pieces of Exodia in your hand, 2 of which you drew from Graceful Charity's effect, you cannot win if you would have to discard any piece of Exodia to the Graveyard.

Graceful Charity's effect must resolve and you MUST have all 5 pieces in hand at resolution to win.

True, but you said if their OPPONENT drew some pieces with charity.

Picture yourself playing across from someone who is playing an Exodia Deck....

"...unless your opponent drew some pieces wth Graceful Charity."

Now, think in context of what I am saying. There are very few ways (barely any) to stop Exodia once he is assembled in hand...

...unless their opponent drew some pieces with Graceful Charity.

Masterwoo0: So you're saying there's no way for YOU to stop THEM unless they drew with graceful. I get it now.

Jathro: Yes, sir, I'm aware of the ruling on Exodia vs Graceful. It was who used Exodia in Masterwoo0's example that I was confused about.

Maybe a bit late reaction...
Read Divine Wrath, and you'll know what I mean. Exodia DOESN'T activate. Besides that it is a Continues Effect, and the fact it is a game mechanic that let's win you the game when you have all the 5 pieces of Exodia...
