hi there
just wanted to check this out with you guys first k here goes:

say convulsion of nature and archfiends oath are both active on field and the next card to be drawn is archfiend of gilfer, can i do the following:

declare any card name even though gilfer is next(which obviously i know) so i can send gilfer to the GY to activate its effect(which should be the last thing to happen correct?)

am i right in that i can do this?

I think skey remembers seeing something similar to this in the same place I did....and I'm in agreement with him for that reason. It was a realiable source is all I can say.

<sniff /> All those L3s, I wish I had could commune with the Oracles of Might and Knowledge like you do! 8^D

All the same, thanks! I learned something new today!

Yeah, and the sad part is (and this is not against any LV3 at all), is this "LV3 Club" is looking more and more like a throwback to the days of the Demo Team... when they recieved rulings before anyone else.

I thought the whole point of the Judge's List was to get away from this exclusive rulings club idea.

Well, if you're referring to the official UDE FAQ for "Morphing Jar" then I'd say that's a reliable source...lol...
UDE FAQ said:
If "Protector of the Sanctuary" is on the field, then Flip Effects like "Morphing Jar" will still activate because they must activate when the monster is flipped (whether it was Flip Summoned, flipped by an attack, or flipped by "Book of Taiyou", etc.).
I have bolded the appropriate section...lol.

Okay, guys. I'm looking back at these last few posts and I can't even find what sparked this confrontation. I don't see any reason for any of the hostility I've picked up on here. It was unnecessary and not befitting of the high standards we've set for our forum. I'm sensing a little too much of that lately. I suggest if we want to be the helpful community that we claim to be, we focus more on the helping aspect and less on our personal pet peeves and idiosyncrasies.
Agreed. I certainly did nothing to deserve the treatment I was subjected to...

I have a question, and it's CoN related. I remember hearing about a card that says "pick up" the top card of a deck, and if CoN is on the field, you'll be able to see the next card as well, since you're picking up the card.
I was wondering ifthat works with Senri Eye as well.
"Once per turn, during each of your Standby Phases, you can pay 100 Life Points to look at 1 card on the top of your opponent's Deck and return it to its original position. Your opponent cannot look at the card."

Technically speaking, I don't see why not. The purpose of Convulsion of Nature is to gain an advantage you ordinarily wouldn't have, which directly relates to deck knowledge. And I don't know of any quirky UDE rule that would prevent that. You might also want to take a look at Ancient Telescope.

My Goodness! That card is SO OLD I never would have though of it! Now I just HAVE to test it in the Zanydu deck!

New question (I'm doing research, so I'll probably come up with many questions)

If CoN is on the field and I play Grave lure, would the card be flipped face down?

"Turn the top card of your opponent's Deck face-up, then your opponent shuffles their Deck. When your opponent draws the face-up card, immediately send it to the Graveyard."
Similarly, if my Parasite Paracide is flipped, would it be put into the deck face down? or face up? And with both effects, if the card is facing the same as the rest of the cards in the deck, would the effects activate to sp.summon PP, or to send the card to the G/Y with Grave lure??

[info][Re: Convulsion of Nature] If a "Parasite Paracide" is face-up in your Deck before this card is activated, it will become face-down once this card is active. Its effect will still activate when it is drawn.[/info]
This doesn't help me out at all:

And the reason for that is that, it only describes what happens if PP is shuffled into the deck before CoN is activated.

There are rulings for "Grave Lure" and "Convulsion of Nature"....
UDE FAQ said:
If your Deck is already face-up because of "Convulsion of Nature", then the card from "Grave Lure" is turned face-down.
This ruling would apply to any card that required you to put a card into your deck 'face-up'.

There's also the Pharaoh's Treasure's ruling, so it appears it's a general rule:

If "Convulsion of Nature" is active, place "Pharaoh's Treasure" face-down so that it is the opposite direction of the rest of the cards.

Thank you both so much for the quick answers. I would have checked UDE's faq but I can't from work XD

Though, I guess I didn't look Grave Lure up in Netrep, becase it says it there too.

Can you install RONIN™ at work? I would recommend that and use it in OFFLINE mode so it's not continually pinging on the internet when you're checking rulings...

Well I was thinking of just putting it on a flash drive, but since I can currently view netrep again, I don't know if it's neccisary. I've never used RONIN so I don't know how good it is yet.
