Nintendo is releasing a new version of the Game boy Advance.As the name suggest the machine is very tiny especially compared to the Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP.The new Game Boy Micro will feature a 2-inch backlit screen just like the Game Boy Advance SP, It will have a rechargeable lithium ion battery, You will have the option to swap it's front plates, and adjust the screen brightness.Unfortunately the Game Boy Micro will only play Game Boy Advance games(It will not play Game boy color or Game Boy games).The machine may be a little too tiny.......Here are some pictures......

Now most people think the Game Boy Micro will retail at 100$ but a recent comment by Reggie Fils-Aime about the Game Boy Micro mades me think it will retail at less "The retailers have been all over it... the belief is that it's going to be the hot Christmas item this year. Especially when we announce the pricing."I may buy it as long as it doesn't retail at 100$ though it does seem a little too small o_O.Your thoughs/opinions?
 
My question is why? Why would anyone want this? I see these things getting lost easier.... Maybe that's Nintendo's goal, if they keep losing then they will keep buying them!!! Genius....

In all reality I see this being another piece of useless nintendo garbage to go along with the likes of R.O.B., eReader, 64DD and that horrible virtual boy idea they had.
 
I just found a perfect way of comparing it!The screen is the same size of the image of a yu-gi-oh card turned horizontal.
 
I liked Virtual Boy. Admitedly, it would have been nice if the game wasn't a bunch of green lines.

As far as this Micro thing goes, if it's under $100 then I might actually buy one. And I hate Game Boy and most things Nintendo. Most, not all. Just remeber there is a large community of kids out there who just can't afford to the $200+ gaming ystems that are currently the rage. This might help to fill the gap, so to speak.

You will be surprise how many people want it and will buy it.It will be good for those who had the Game Boy Advance and never bought the SP because of the light and the rechargeable battery.Also it is rumored that it will come with play-yan a GBA pak that can play music and movies from SD memory cards....and that is a selling point for me.
 
Virtual Boy btw was a bunch of red lines, The Creator of the Game Boy was actually pretty much put in the dog house after that failed, with him now dead (car crash in the late 90's) I'm glad to see that Nintendo is still trying to continue on his great invention with more and more versions of the Game Boy.

I won't say that this thing doesn't intrigue me. I really think people don't realize that the reason why Nintendo fails sometimes at things and the reason why the succeed at others is because out of all the console and game makers out there they're the most innovative. Nintendo isn't afraid to try something new, evidence of this is the DS touchscreen, Donkey Kong drum controller, etc.

You won't see Sony or Microsoft come out with such things, so that's what makes Nintendo cool. Of course, this could be a cool idea, I'll be able to tell more when I get one in my hand though.

I often confuse it with the Star Wars Arcade Game of the late eighties that had green lines. Same visual structure though.
 
Don't get me wrong I love Nintendo for what they have done for the world of console gaming. I remember when NES was first released OH MY GOD!!!!!! I was like 7, I got my parents to buy me one on from then on it was me and Nintendo. People started jumping ship saying that Sega was better but I still stuck to Nintendo... Back then Nintendo was a real innovator, it came out with a game system when noone thought it would be as big. It then continued it innovation with its game titles.

I bought my son a Gamecube because it was cheaper and because I still believed Nintendo was still about creating great games. After years of owning the system I am finding less and less decent titles for the gamecube even my son can't find anything that interests him.

Nintendo was about innovation in gaming. Now its about using last years technology to make less spectacular games, and re-inventing its already successful gameboy product line. Sure it's cheaper, great now penny pinching cheap skates like me can buy a cheaper system that does less than any other system on the market. Besides what's so innovative about making a smaller gameboy, that only plays gameboy games, not even the new gameboy ds stuff?
 
people that dont want the DS could easily buy the sp and the micro. considering the touch screen was awfully weak. i have friends that in a day it broke.

Either they use it in the wrong way or their DS were defective.My DS's touch screen still works perfectly and i had it for a long time and is the same with all of my friends that has it.Besides the DS comes with 1 year warranty from Nintendo so they may sent it and they will give them a new one with no fee.
 
I'm just hoping the Revolution turns out to not be a piece of crap... But of course, discussion on the Revolution should go in the Revolution board, so I'll shut up for now.
 
actually mr. palmer, from what my friend told me. Nintendo didnt bring anything to the table at this years E3.

he said, they either 1. Just gave up, or 2. are trying to surprise everybody, because not even the developers at other game companies knows what they will bring out come due date for Revolution.

he did tell me that the video's they had for the new zelda game were so packed it was about 3-4 hour wait time to view it.

he said unlike Xbox which just wow'd everybody in the arena, Sony didnt bring much to the table either, atleast they had a conscept of what they want the PS3 to look like.

basically an xbox with PS3 logo on it.

xbox 360 already has so many games comming its not even funny, not to mention the fact that people in the game industry at Activision are calling it the Microsoft tampon.

If the micro has anything to compete with is the PSP and the PSP is proving to be worth its money.

the Korean PSP can go online.
 
the nintendo revolution is what its name is for nintendo.a revolution. it will be able to play ANY nintendo game ever made. all you have to do is download the games. you'll be able to play all of the old school nes, super nintendo and nintendo games. some of the rare and expensive game like chrono trigger will be easy to get becase of this system.
 
I watched all the coverage that G4 had on E3 on their E305 Live special. They showed Nintendo's unveiling of the Revolution, which was just a small black box really, nothing more, not even a controller. They announced that the Revolution would be backwards compatible with all Nintendo games, including old system games which you could downloading using their Wi-Fi connection to the system itself and play that way. The controller right now is the most talked about thing though, since there was nothing shown and Nintendo is known for their.... weird controllers I guess. The rumor going around is that it'll be a touchscreen of sorts, kinda like the DS touchscreen, but that of course is just speculation, no one outside the closed doors at Nintendo actually knows what it is.

So yeah, they showed off a new system at E3, it just wasn't as much of an unveiling like the PS3 and X-Box 360 were. Anyways, yeah, if you want to have a lot more discussion on the Revolution, take it to the Revolution board, ;). Beyond that, let's get back to the Game Boy Micro.
 
I think that the Micro is indeed too.... well, micro for my taste. I'd probably die before finishing an RPG on it, and its just so small. Your hands would soon grow tired, and don't even start on the eyes... o.*
