RIP Jacob KT 2/16/06
I PASSED MY LV2 JUDGE TEST yesterday.

I needed an 80, I recieved a 90. (2 wrong muliple choice, 2 wrong true/false)

When I got back home I had a letter from UDE waiting for me. I thought to myself... wow, that was quick. Inside was my laminated UDE membership card.. for when I passed my LV1 judge test 5 months ago!

Anyway, I'm happy. No more having lv1 judges argue with me :D. I'll probably be judging the next shohen jump championship in New Jersey and the regionals in Rhode Island this coming saterday.

Congratulations!

I missed the Level 2 test here in the Netherlands, it was 1 day after the Nationals on the same event -_-'

I did pass the Level 1 TO test today though, it was my first try also ^_^

Good job!!!

I'm just waiting for my registration to go through at UDE so I can take my Level 1 test finally, I had been working with stores here to try and get things going but ended up having to go out of town to finally get registered. Dang deadbeat store owners.

This is kinda off topic but not really. I want to take the level 1 test and just wanted to know what kind of stuff they asked about. and Congratulations!

Congradulations exiledforcefreak....this doesn't surprise me in the least. You've always exhibited a good working knowledge of the rules. If anyone hangs around this website and goes over the new post in the rulings forum and the judge's list for 6 months and has a reasonable intelligence level they've got a very good shot at passing the L2 test, however, many fail to realize the huge jump in difficulty between the L1 test and the L2 test.

A job well done. Again, congradulations.

Do they give the card text for any cards they ask you about in the Lv2 exam, since you can't exactly get up to go look at a copy of the card?

They provide you with the text of any card they may ask you about, but of course, not the rulings. Your resource of finding answers to those questions will generally come from the internet, and most likely, on Netrep.

That's fine then as at least even if you can't remember the rulings you should be able to remember rulings for similar cards and the general mechanics for different effect. :)
Wouldn't really expect them to supply rulings of any sort since that's what they're supposed to be testing you on. ;)

Not that you have access to the internet during the test mind you! The rulings you'll pretty much have to pull from your knowledge of game mechanics. More often than not that's what will determine if you pass the test....and how carefully you read the question.

As far as studying for, not necessarily at the time.

They ask about Rulings and proper tournament procedures.

Is this a statment or a question?

The test's name is Yu-Gi-Oh rules knowledge level 2. Nothing about tournament procedure.

Thank you everyone. Honestly, I credit alot of my success to this forum and the people within the board's community. I failed my level 1 judge test the first two times, joined the Netrep forums and passed the 3rd time.

The fact that I did not get a perfect score shows just how much more I still need to learn. Someone who gets a perfect score still has much to learn, if I recieved a 90 then I must have quite a ways to go.

Some bad news I did get from my examiner (John Williams A.K.A. Krazy Kilroy) is that he never recieved a judge shirt from UDE in the mail and that the three judge shirts he has he had to steal more or less :(

I was originally scored as a 89 but then I showed him the new rules regarding equip cards from the advanced gameplaq FAQ. Just for that, after he finished going over the test with me, I asked him a whole bunch of questions like... "collected power Vs. snatch steal" and "Limiter Removal (with heavy mech to keep monster alive) Vs. Shield and Sword"

After the tournament was over I showed him my cyber jar/secret barrel OTK deck which I'm sure he enjoyed watching in action. At the and of the duel he was like "How do you win, all your opponent needs to do is end their turn and you lose" and then I sprung the 2 secret barrels doing 3600 damage each, after having done 3500 damage with cannon soldiers the previous turn, in response to my opponent's draw.

Congrats! I remember when I passed my L2 over a year ago. Man I remember how happy I was about that.

Side note though, Just because you are a L2 doesnt mean you can over rule L1's or that you dont have to argue with them. It means that you are more likely to be able to judge an Higher Profile event than an L1 is unless that L1 is Very well known. A good example is Tyloki, or GKCurse. both Extremly knowledgeable Judges, and I am sure they could easily pass the l2 and POssibly the L3 if presented with the chance but have never gotten the chance to take the L2. I have seen some L1's that are far more knowledgable than some L2s and they are L1 because they cant get access to the test. So when it comes to comparing an l2 to an l1 dont be to quick to judge. A good judge is a commited one and knows when they are wrong and Fix the problems they get wrong, not one based on their Level.

Once again Congrats :)

congrats ey.

im still a lv. 1 but considering the situation that i cant judge at spots im stuck at perma 1. :)

but its like what ever. :)

Alright man figured my first post would be a congrats to you, and I would like to say thank you for your guidance with helping me pass my level 1 judge test and truly begin to master the game!

I know, I'm talking about level one judges who aren't knowledgable who argue with me, not visa versa.

Congrats!
I think it is interesting when I made a same post on an other board saying I got Level 3 and people started yelling at me and calling me a lier.
