Pandemonium DCR-094

Pandemonium
Field Spell

Neither player has to pay Life Points during the Standby Phase for Archfiend monsters. Each time a player's Archfiend Monster Card(s) are destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, except as a result of battle, that player can select 1 Archfiend Monster Card from his/her Deck that has fewer Level Stars than the destroyed card and add it to his/her hand.

Short and sweet since I don't have much time. On the flip side to the Fairy Field Spell, we have the Fiend Field Spell. This card is a must in Archfiend decks as well as if you intend on running "Mazera DeVille" (and the lovely effect of causing your opponent to discard many cards). Between the 2, I think the Fiends got the better end of the deal here. Use it, abuse it, and have fun with the Archfiends dominating the field.

Amen to that. I love this card. Lose an archfiend to the graveyard and you can get an replacement. Sure it has to be at least one level lower but that doesn't matter. What if the only monster you had in your current hand was the one that just went to the graveyard? Lose a LV six and you can get a King or queen. Lose a LV four and you can get a rook or a bishop. And lose a LV 3 gets you a pawn. And this speeds up the deck a bit allowing you to draw much needed spells or traps. Just gotta be careful when you go up against a Deck-out Deck.

The only thing I don't like is that if they get destroyed by battle you don't get the effect and odds are that opponent will have an easier time getting rid them by battle them with targeting effects (if playing advance format, that is). And if they are tributed, its the same thing.

I also wished they could have also gotten a power bonus but then that would be broken. Monster replacement AND power increase? We would have quite a few more people playing this deck type.

A deck that uses Pandemonium has to watch it with its life. If you're using archfiends then most likely you're using archfiends with payment costs. Guard it with your life because you'll kill yourself pretty quickly without it.

Artwork is ok. Wish the card was at least a rare. Probably a super considering the effect buts that's just me. You can spot all six chess archfiends if you look closely enough. They're all around the Altar of Tribute in the center of the card. The king in the middle. The Bishop to his right (holding a staff) and the Rook next to the bishop. The queen on his left, followed by the Knight and the pawn whose view is being blocked by one of the Altar's supports.

I wish I hadn't scrapped my old Archfiend deck. It was far too slow then to compete...However Archfiend of Gilfer adds MAJOR searching power; it can search out any archfiend in your deck besides Lesser Fiend and Skull Archfiend every time it hits the grave. VERY NICE.

And yea, Pandemonium is definitely staple in an Archfiend deck. However it's easy M/T removal prey because Archfiends will eat your lifepoints in a few turns so you definitely want protection in the form of a Terraforming, a Magic Reflector, and some Magic Jammers/Drain.

Damned right, ya have to protect it. Personally I prefer to use Magic Jammers. Drain is ok but to make you start losing life points on your own, I'd say the opponent will be more than to willing discard another magic card to destroy Pandemonium if he/she can.

As someone trying to put an Archfiend deck together, I have to agree... Pandemonium is an absolute must. Run at least two. Life gainers like Marie the Fallen One and Solomn Wishes can help keep you in the game. BTW, for Christmas, my daughter got Pandemonium and my son got Mazera DeVille... I got squat.

I wish my parents were cool enough to play Yugioh =\

I would definitely run three, as Pandemonium is definitely the first target for spell/trap removal; let the Archfiends do your dirty work for you...I always hated that ><'

Pandemonium is the better Field card than it's sibling The Sanctuary in The Sky. As a current Archfiend deck user (really didn't work out 4 me alot) I had to agree that Pandemonium is better and easier to use than Sanctuary in The Sky, but alot harder to protect. You'll have to have a tight defense (physical and magical) to protect this card from any harm, and to bring out the mighty Mazera DeVille, which will bring your opponent to his/her knees.
