WRONG, because using Sinister for Lightning Vortex and tribe etc...were for the COST, if you use the DR monsters for a cost you don't get there effect, saying that ZOMG The Cheerful Coffin would own in that deck =O
I did not know that... :D

Dude, The Cheerful Coffin is awesome. I use it in my zombie-deck, and let me tell you, it's something. Somethymes...

Aside from that, Sinister Serpent is gone now, so we should just stop worrying about it and such. Though I like the Skull-Mark Ladybug idea, even if it's a (usually) one shot thing.

Slow down guys, you've got the wrong idea for this post. This isn't some guessing game for you to figure out some replacement, I want to know what you guys think are good replacements/substitutions. So yeah, thought I'd clear that up.

Well, I can say this...the "Cockroach Knight" is a horrible choice IMHO.

I ran him in a deck a while back and as soon as I brought it out, I was screwed. My opponent just happened to have the perfect cards to keep putting that stoopid thing in my Graveyard and hence, back on top of my deck..grrrrr.

And this wasn't against just one person. This was against everybody I played.

Maybe it's because I suck at dueling?..lol...;)

Well obviously if it is such a secret then apparently they want to keep it to themselves so they can all have the edge over us. It's the exact same thing as chaos people, always having their small little advantages and insights so they can keep getting into the winner circle.

Huh? Where the heck did that come from?

I should think Magic Blast would be a good card to use, even outside a Spellcaster Deck. But ideally it'd appear inside one, for maximum effect. Who wouldn't want to do 1000+ damage each turn? Or you could use it at the start of the game, do a little damage, and then leave it in the Graveyard until it would be much more effective (read: destructive).

Magic Blast
Magic - Normal
This card can only be activate if there's a Spellcaster sub-type monster on your field. For each Spellcaster sub-type monster on your field, do 200 damages to opponent. When this card is in your Graveyard, you may put this card into your hand instead of drawing a card from your deck during your draw phase.

Totally contridicted yourself there, it is possible guys it just takes a little more effort, but yes it is very possible, look closely at cards...

he isnt contradicting him self.

he stated that this thread isnt for guessing and just wanted to know what each individual person belived would be a decent substitute and or replacement.

and its true, people already posted multiple times giving different replies each time.

i would say there is no decent replacement as of now. but maybe later, there will be.

But what's the point? You might as well just draw a card. The beauty of Sinister is that it effecitvely let you add 2 cards to your deck each turn, with the ability to use him as a shield if you have to.

I'm just going to sigh, and wait for Vampire Genesis to come out :(

the best thing for magic blast is when you need to do that extra 200 or 1000 damage if possible and just win off that.

but beyond that, if it were a bit more than just 200 you can actually say its the next Ring of Destruction.

The advantage for Magic Blast only comes when you can get multiple in the graveyard and skip 1 draw for 2 or 3 coming back to your hand. A little situational for many decks but in a spellcaster deck that uses counters and discard effects (Dark Paladin would be great)

There is one card that is a perfect way to replace Sinister Serpent's card advantage. But I'm not telling what it is.

After looking over this post and looking at the comment on "card advantage" I'm going to guess that the ultra-secret "replacement" card that requires such secrecy would be Forced Requisition. Which honestly is not much of a replacement for Sinister Serpent. 1) The activation requirement is tough. 2) There are a lot of cards that will benefit your opponent if discarded by your card effect (and the dark realms decks will eat you alive). And 3) Sinister Serpent added to your hand for free, it was a single card with a million uses and "having more cards in your hand than in your opponent's" wasn't the primary benefit.
