Ah, see, no store here sells the Hobby Box versions, they only sell them in the carded packages as if they were action figures.

And I have no idea what you mean by Ultimate Rare, but oh well. What is Shinato (DC version), Guardian Angel Joan (IoC), Zerato (AST), and Magician of Dark Chaos (IoC) considered?
only cards that were released sod-after have ult. rares ult rares have the traits that ur have but have texture to there pics, and and there attribute, level stars[if it's a monsters] are shiny.

there is no magician of Dark chaos, its Dark Magician of Chaos.

and its an Ultra rare, they all are i belive ultra rares, but thouse packs used to contain 2 Japanese sets that made it up.

so the Ultimare Rare didnt exist then, it started since SOD.

Ultimate Rare or 3d Rare notice the differences.

1, the Level of the card if it is a monster is foiled and looks beveled. The name of the card the image and border of the image are foiled.

2. the Card's image has been beveled so that it looks 3d.

so preaty much thouse are seen more often than ultra's becuase you know ultras are now 1 every 24. and ultimates are 1 every 12 and super 1 every 6 and rare 1 every pack.

:)

Whats so annoying about buying packs. Its all down to luck and I never get anything I wan't when I uy packs I stopped doing that a while back and just buy the single cards for me thatworks out cheaper.

Yeah, but I'm used to the Japanese name (Magician of Black Chaos), so I couldn't remember my card's "official" name.

Fuzzman, I agree. I collect the Fairy cards (they're my favorite type), but it turned out to be cheaper in the long one to just buy the cards I needed off ebay (I got Winged Kuriboh for $6, Airknight for $7, Winged Kuriboh LVL 10 for $13, Archlord Zerato for $5, etc) rather than buying packs.

I agree. With singles, you know what you want and you go get it. Simple as that.

But it's fun to just go get a pack and hope for something good. The randomness is what makes it fun.

Yes I suppose that is true I was happy when I pulled Mobius from a random pack I brought so there is that toit but if I really need a card I just buy it.

??? How come mine had both the name AND picture in holofoil? Are UR no longer limited to having name and pic holo? I thought it was Rare got holo title, SuperRare got holo pic, and UltraRare got holo title and pic.

All hollow words stars and pic means Ultimate Rare

Common = Black letters, No holo
Rare = Chrome Letters no holo
Super Rare = Holographic Picture & plain letters
Ultra Rare = Holographic Picture & Gold Letters
Secret Rare = Chrome Letters & Holographic Picture
Ultimate Rare = Gold Letters & All Holographic Picture, Stars and Letters

In Newer sets like SOD and newer all rares , supers, and Ultras were also available as Ultimates.

I don't know about Secrets I do not think they were. At least I haven't seen any.
But Mid Shield Gardna was a rare and an Ultimate

Actually, they stopped making Secret Rares after AST. Well, there are Secrets, just not in packs.

Well there you go then they are definitely not available as Ultimates lol if they don't make them anymore.:)

All the Video game cards and Limited tin cards and the like look very much like Secret rares.

Right. Secrets aren't available in boosters anymore. In other words, there will be no EEN-EN000, or EEN-EN061. But the tin promos (among others) are considered Limited Edition and are Secret Rares. Which are different than the Limited Edition cards we get at Sneak Previews; they are Ultra Rares.

It's enough to make your head spin, lol.

Thanks for the info guys. I checked out the difference between my Sasuke Samurai #4s since I had both a Rare and Ultimate Rare. Is one worth more than the other?

As for packs, yes, buying packs is fun at times because you do get cards you never knew existed, however, when you get close to having a complete set of commons for one series, it gets tiring. I was trying to get every single Invasion of Chaos and Dark Crisis card out there so I could have a complete set of both series, however, after a while I just gave up as it became impossible to get cards I needed (UR like Exodia Necros, Black Luster Soldier, Chaos Emperor Dragon, and I still don't have all of the common cards).

Yes. Ultimate Rares are worth more generally speaking. They are more "rare" (for lack of a better term) than the typical release of the card (Rare, Super Rare, or Ultra Rare).

Well here is something funny. I was in a comic shop today (first time I've been there in years) and I bought a card holder thing for my Fairy cards, and I decided to buy the store's last Dark Crisis pack. I open it up, and what do I get, Terrorking Archfiend (and another DC card I didn't have). Unfortunately, I had bought one this morning off ebay. :tssk:

Its a huge waste of money to try to colllect all the cards in 1 set when you done need them.

Well DC and IoC were the first series I ever bought (Shinato was the very first card I got), and I only wanted to collect them until my girlfriend decided she wanted to learn how to play the game, so now we play together. However, we are the only two people in this city that seems to play the game. Everyone else that plays card games either play wrestling, magic, or "real" card games (as a coworker put it).

whats a "real" card game?

Poker, Texas hold em, etc..?

thouse game require absollutely no skill, just bluff out your opponent and hope to god what you got was the highst on the table.

in a TCG/OCG/CCG the factor is there, but it doesnt matter if your opponent has a higher hand, you could easily counter it if possible.

and magic just plain rocks dude. :D

Holdem takes skill, luck, and a blank face. and cojones. if you know what that is. im not sure I spelled it right.

I bought so many packs that I have so many rare cards. The only good monster I actually pulled was a Dark Magician of Chaos.
