The best retort I've seen in the last few pages. Make it so, and make the results public. You guys could even team up and write a feature article for netrep.net about your findings! (See the new "Articles" tab out there)

I really like this idea, and would really like to see a transcript of you guys duking it out over YVD, even if it's not in any sort of feature article format.

(BTW and FWIW, I think everyone's doing a generally good job of staying civil throughout this thread. It gets a little heated now and again, but so far so good!! Well done gang -- keep it up!)
 
Oh right because obviously calling my opponent stupid is not a council worthy offense? Sugar coating it with "not astute" does not change what you were calling him. Even without the other field set-up mentioned, YOU WERE WRONG in going in the manner you were. Could you have asked what else was on the field, in the Graveyard, etc? Yes you could. Did you? No. You bash my opponent. It is one thing to bash my duel style and theories, but it is another to downplay my opponent. That insults me as well since if my opponent is "not astute" then that makes me dueling and winning or losing against him or her all the more pointless. The thing is, I do not agree with your opinions. It is the same thinking about playing CC in tournies for the easy road that I will never accept or respect. As for as Kraz..., I do not have to respect you nor do I even have to like you. That is the freedom I enjoy with being an American citizen. Now with that said, I do not respect your duel ethics same with Magnumcumlaudes. However, that does not mean I dislike you.

But as usual the council will see another "Tiso" incident, forgo the fact that Magnumcumclaude not only started it, but never has apologized about calling my opponent "not astute" or even saying he made a mistake that maybe had he went about it again he would have asked more about the situation instead of going the route he did. No that would be expecting too much from the council.

Because that never solves it. LET US DUEL IT OUT. If you go on YVD, you see how stupid that is. I mean in the end what exactly comes out of it? You either lose or win. It does not prove anything. It was 1 MATCH. Not to mention it would further show how unfair it is for these "original decks" being hampered by the swarm of CC decks that anyone with their momma's money could make and play with little to no trouble at all.

Don't be so sure of this. While not a council member anymore, I did try to point out that overall you guys are doing fine here, but it is starting (emphasis on starting) to get a little wild. Mind your temper and I can all but guarantee there will be no "Tiso incident".

As far as the YVD thing, it was just an idea. I happened to like it, you obviously don't :D It's all good. Again, just mind your temper and accept that not everyone will have the same ideas and opinions as you do!

Later tonight, I'll go back through this thread personally and find the whole "stupid / not astute" thing. I haven't seen that. If it looks like something that needs to be addressed, I'll alert the right folks for ya. It's up to you to not generate a "Tiso Incident" from here on out. I have confidence that there won't be any problems.

On a completely unrelated note, I think Shrink will be seeing a fair amount of play in YVD. The fact that many people using it are Netdeckers is irrelevant. The card came out on its own, unshadowed by any others, in a prominent environment. Everyone's going to look at it, and they're going to find that it's a good card to have (even if they didn't know about it already). And since it's in no way limited, people are going to put in 1 or 2 of them in their YVD Decks. Probably not 3, because that would be overkill. I hear many people don't take advantage of the 2 Nobleman of Crossouts currently allowed, which is what I'm basing that statement on.

In terms of the card itself, it's a good one. Respondable (if that's a word), effective and simple. Halve the (original) ATK. Can't get much easier than that. This card gets more powerful the more attacks people declare, because the more likely you can use Shrink to thwart them. And it's always fun watching your opponent accidentally suicide their monster (Staunch Defender is another good option).

Of course, in the real world you can't possibly think about worrying about the card. As I understand it, only two exist in the Western world, and they're seriously not going to be played. Just look at the card on eBay.

The card being released changes nothing (except how wealthy certain people are). I still claim it'll be released to Joe Public later on. No idea when, though.
 
Krazy~ I like you and respect you. I think you know this too, so please don't misinterpret me as attacking you, but isn't that the exact kind of thing that would antagonize and instigate situations on this matter? Did that have to be stated?

I just came over from Emerald Dragon's Team thread because he mentioned Jedi starting a conversation about it here. Tiso is wound up, right or wrong. As much as we don't know every single step in the duel he used for example, nor do we know who his opponent was. If I wished to protect the identity of someone I dueled with, I would simply refer to them as my opponent. It could be anyone from a stranger to my mother, or someone who literally saved my life once.

If Tiso felt the need to defend his opponent, would it have been so hard for everyone, including magnumcylconex to simply apologize, saying that they did not mean to offend, it was unintentional, whatever?

Why does everyone feel the need to defend their argument down to the bone? Its been said by a few people, "we have a difference of opinion" and then it keeps getting backed up with examples of how the other person was wrong. Kind of nullifies the first statement.

We all admit to having different playing styles and preferences. Tiso appears to like the all out risk and dynamic finish. His opponent is apparently cautious. Sometimes one style pays off over another, and vice versa.

I love coming to this site. but recently, all my old heroes and stuff here have been disappointing me. The conversations are getting no better than Realms or Pojo or any other place. :(

Wow, talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. And I'm just on the last page.

I don't know about any Tiso incident as I haven't been on the council for some time now. Neither do I know about Tiso or his opponent and their dueling style.

I do know magnumcyclonex personally (ok...not THAT personal) and because of that, I do know how he responds to things and somewhat have a general idea of how he thinks about things.

Yes yes, I'm getting there. Let an old man babble for a bit, will ya...

Regardless of what you both think of one another and your opponents and their playing styles, lets just drop it and bask the the glory that is Shrink.

Now I have heard that Shrink is not slated for a reprint for a year or so. That makes me sad. =/ I am confident however that they will get this card out to us sometime int he future because of the simple fact that it is a ridiculously awesome card. I would kill....well, maybe not kill....I would....no, can't do that either. Ok, I got it. I would BAKE a souffle just for the chance to get one of those suckers. =)

Now that I've injected some humor into this thread, Tiso and magnumcyclonex, if you two have any further issues, take it to PMs or IMs and lets keep this thread clean.

That statement hurts me more then any other. Especially considering the fact that your absolutly right. This is not what CoG is known for. This is not why I stayed at CoG for as long as I have.

Tiso. Magnum. This conversation/debate/argument is at an end. Whoever started what, I don't really care anymore. From now on, if the conversation cannot be civil, it will not continue. I will not allow you to destroy that which we've fought so hard to build. Consider this a warning ... to everyone.

That is the only part that hurts me. I used to love attempting to try cards like Ka-2 Des Scissors, Needle Burrower, Absorbing Kid from the Sky, Red Moon Baby, and Ghost Night of Jackal. I have been waiting forever and a day to get Shrink and Riryoku. Knowing that I still have a year minimum before I can get a better shot at aquiring one of those effects, is frustrating.

Thank god they make all these other fun cards to distract me.
