XYZ-Dragon Cannon MFC-EN052

XYZ-Dragon Cannon
Fusion Monster (Machine / LIGHT / 8 Stars / ATK 2800 / DEF 2600)

"X-Head Cannon" + "Y-Dragon Head" + "Z-Metal Tank"
This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing from play the above cards on your side of the field; then you can Special Summon this card from your Fusion Deck (You do not use "Polymerization"). Discard 1 card from your hand to destroy 1 card on your opponent's side of the field.

"¢ There are no published rulings for "XYZ-Dragon Cannon".

Alright, I like this card overall. A repetative 1-1 trade to remove their entire field, or as much as you can with your hand size, well, Night Assailant = Final Destiny for their field every turn.

Alright, this card has a lot going for it. 2800 ATK and 2600 DEF will keep it on the field, except til BLS-EotB comes out, but I'm not going to talk about him. He's LIGHT and a machine, so no lack of support here. Night Assailant is the ultimate synergy for XYZ-Dragon Cannon, making it a free Raigeki Break repetatively.

This card does have a few drawbacks. The main one is that you have make a 1-3 trade in field persence to bust this bad boy out. That, and once he gets off the field, he stays off, since he cannot be Fusion Summoned properly (we'll see if Power Bond gets around this).

When playing with XYZ-Dragon Cannon, if you don't have Night Assailant, be careful what you destroy. This card can lead to mad overextensions.

The best deck for this card is....THE FUSION DECK! It's a Fusion. But it should be in EVERY Fusion deck, if it should happen that you Creature Swap an X-Head Cannon from them, Snatch Steal a Y-Dragon Head, and Brain Control a Z-Metal Tank.

Advanced: 4/5 Lack of mass removal helps you here.
Traditional: 3/5 Mass removal owns XYZ in all its forms.
Limited: 0/5 You won't pull it off.
Sealed Pack: 0/5 You won't pull it off.

We culminate XYZ week with the grand-daddy of them all, XYZ-Dragon Cannon. It requires 3 cards to get it out, but let's see if it's worth it.

First off, the stats. LIGHT is Chaos friendly and benefits from Luminous Spark as well as a few other mediocre cards (Solar Ray, Ray of Hope, etc). 2800 ATK is very nice for an 8-star, and 2600 DEF will stand up to most everything in today's meta. Looks real good so far.

The fusion summon is of course a Special Summon. Having an X-Head Cannon and a Y-Dragon Head and a Z-Metal Tank on the on the field at the same won't be easy (especially in today's day and age), but if you're running them in 3s you should have a couple shots. Frontline Base helps and the fact that Y-Dragon Head and Z-Metal Tank are searchable by Shining Angel and the soon to be released UFOroid helps matters as well.

The best part about this card though is the effect. If you have a Sinister Serpent or a Night Assailant in your hand (along with 1 in the Graveyard) you can destroy any 1 card your opponent has on the field. Monster, Spell, Trap - go nuts. And you can use this effect more than once per turn so long as you have the cards to discard. There really is no downside to this, except for the fact that your opponent can chain to the effect. But you're still forcing your opponent into activating the card before they wanted to, so it's not all bad.

Obviously the only place you're going to see this card is in the Fusion deck of an XYZ deck. You can't even use it anywhere else because of the "only X, Y, and Z" part.

However, this card is truly magnificent. It can take out most monsters on it's own, and the ones it can't destroy in battle can be taken out via the effect. It can save itself by destroying Spell and Trap threats. It just can't do any of that if you can't get it out, and that's really the only bad thing about this card. I even like the art a lot.

Advanced: 4/5 Nice stats with a nice effect, but a bit hard to get to the field.
Traditional: 2/5 Hard to pull off here.
Limited: 0/5 Don't even bother
