YGO Card Name Game

Not him...

HorusMaster and LordLight have #1 correct
Absird has #4 partially right in that it refers to the French = Friend's, cheese ala a made up homophone

remember you have to decode 1,2,4 fully and then decode their combined meaning to even have a chance at getting the answer.

you all have to stop looking at the cards... this clue is kind of like the one where you had to find Frank Sinatra first to realize he pointed to Blue Eyes White Dragon.

No to all.

Someone was close on #2.

okay....dealing with a flag that may have something to do with geekz which is a graphic-based portal engine, may even something to do with Microsoft Explorer...no red seen in the icon...Friend's cheese is homophone for Frenchie but it's something that sounds French but is not....

Am I getting close?

okay....i think i have some of it figured out....flag or symbol, female, no red seen in icon or possibly the attribute...maybe a green or other colored icon and/or attribute? person turned away or "rebuked" and something French but isn't....maybe something to do with the Statue of Liberty? symbol of freedom...located in the port of NY harbor...bring us your tired, poor, and burdened...hmmmm

No and no to Jathro...

Note to everyone... HorusMaster was close on #2 awhile back but not in the meaning of a girl... Homophone?

hom·o·phone

(hŏm'ə-fōn', hō'mə-) Pronunciation Key
n. One of two or more words, such as night and knight, that are pronounced the same but differ in meaning, origin, and sometimes spelling.

Im looking and here are the possible homophones in this riddle...

symbol _--- cymbal

seen --- scene

friend's cheese ---- frenzy (a far stretch I know)

Acrobat Monkey ??

I didn't say homophone, I said Homophone?, what's the difference?

A country's symbol in distress....an upside down flag

A Port, you geekz....translated Portugese....
related to an old explorer spurned....Magellan, maybe?

HorusMaster is close... let's review and I'll show what is correct so far... this should help a lot:

a symbol of nations is
was of Port, you geekz!
no red is seen
now sounds like a Friend's, cheese word

uprighted in danger
ye old explorer spurned
colorblind, be not
frogs they are not

Homophone? Homophone?

Line 1 of each clue: points to flag
Line 2 1st clue take the Homophone? and apply it to the clue line Portuguese
Line 2 2nd clue, was to help point to country who spurned an explorer since people were missng the point of the 1st Line 2 clue
Line 3 useful after lines 1, 2 and 4 are put together
Line 4 1st clue take the Homophone? and apply it to the clue line
Line 4 2nd clue was to help point to country... ha, Absird got that one Frenchy
Homophone? Homophone? was to tell how many fake homophones there are as an aid, since people were looking for true homophones and there are none.

Sorry this has been so obscure... remember you CANNOT figure out the answer from the clues directly... you have to put 1 and 2 and 4 together and then see how 3 fits in.

Columbus, ye olde explorer, sailed to the New World under the flag of Spain, although he was Portugese. His proposals were spurned in both Portugal and Spain before he was finally green-lighted for the first of his historic New World expeditions in 1492.

How close am I now?

Another big hint... time to put this one to rest... I think I'm starting to realize I suck at clue stuff....

It's
a symbol of nations

was of Portugese
rule

but when you see it
no red to be seen

It's name
now sounds like a Frenchy word

EDIT: That should point you at the INDIRECT clue. heh, Horus guessed at the same time I posted this. no.
