Yes the answer is subtly obvious. In a sense, everything that you needed to figure out how to get from the 1st clue to "Des Volstgalph" was in the first clue... if you actually did read it carefully. Figure out the logic there, and you should get this one I did. And if this hint doesn't spell it out for you, I'm not sure what else will.

Okay, I'm still stuck on the "me, myself, and I" part of the clue. So, let's throw in the clue about Maruno and we will get Toon Summoned Skull, which has been guessed and was wrong. But when you mix the clues you get

Summoned Skull
Skull Archfiend of Lightning
Toon Summoned Skull
All part of the same, (me, myself, and I) but different.
 
Interesting... but again, no. You really will need both clues to figure it out only because the key was in the first one (hence the re-read it). And even then, you have to figure out what was important and what were red herrings.
 
You're getting warmer... not so much with the answer though. After all, just how did you get "Des Volstgalph" out of that first thing? But like I said... someone's finally getting warmer. :)

At least you're beginning to look at the correct statement but you're still omitting something. I figure within another day or 2 someone will crack the code. Noone's quite figured out how I am thinking.
