YGO Card Name Game

Card guesses: You're all wrong.

That said, research-wise you are so close. THIS CLOSE. You just have to dig a little bit further. Really though, you just about stumbled upon it. I will say this for the absolute last hint you'll probably need (which is just repeating a small fact).

If you're listening to the lyrics... you're listening to the wrong thing.

I fully expect someone to guess it tomorrow.

Oh, no no no no no....

You almost accidentally said what it was too back when I said you were closer than you realize. But even aside from that, you and Horus both knew where to look but you missed 1 small fact... which if you found you would realize I actually already named the card.

Looking at that Final Fantasy 3 thing, I notice that one character with the big brown hat and blue robe.

Entropy said:
Coffin Seller? Dark Deal? Magical Merchant?
Since Entropy "almost accidentally said it" here, I mentally remove the "Deal" from the quote to almost come up with another card.

It's Yugi's favourite card. It's the Dark Magician.

I was thinking flutes since the song seems to have a few flutes in it.

The Flute of Summoning Dragon
The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh
And for some strange reason, A Deal with Dark Ruler

Well, at least someone started thinking about the melody.

I have to ask, am I the only one who's played through Final Fantasy III? Not the DS version since well they changed her name, but the original one for the NES WAY back in the day? Or at least listened through the soundtrack of the game? After all, this is "the" song from Final Fantasy III. Whenever they had to pick one for other compilations or orchestrations or live performances, invariably, you'd hear that melody (hence why I was thinking this was going to be much easier than apparently it's turned out to be).

I mean, if the clue was Wanderer of Time (also on the Pray Soundtrack), I'm sure someone listening to it would have realized that once you stripped away the singer, the response would be "Hey, that's that thing I heard all throughout Final Fantasy VI way back!" (Which would be called "Tina" / "Terra" depending on where in the world you lived.)

*Note: All Final Fantasy number references refer to the original game number when released in Japan, not the US which fortunately has been corrected all around. Sorry though, if FFVII was your first and everything before that was ignored. None of this would have made sense then.

I'm just going to guess along the lines of worlds beginning and ending and say....

Eria the Water Charmer

Water Magician

Crystal Abundance (referencing the Light and Dark crystals)

and finally, just for S & G's...

Sonic Maid

Horus I would swear those weren't the original 5 you posted when I first typed up my response (esp. since how do those first 2 deal with the World beginning and ending?)

While the song was translated with several different titles (all close though), there was 1 part that was conistant: The name of the character you met in the game.

The "Pray" Album was a project where the more popular songs from the various Final Fantasies from I through VI were given lyrics and fully orchestrated. "Once You Meet Her" was the adaptation of the most popular one from Final Fantasy III:

"Eria, the Water Maiden"

And believe me Entropy, I wasn't trying to be "Charming" before esp. since that's why I was saying you were closer than you realized.

But yes, I like hiding the answer in plain sight. I know, it seems harder to find the forest sometimes because of all the trees in the way. I didn't quite think this one was going to be as challenging as it was.

"Eria, the Water Charmer" is indeed what I was looking for. The clock's ticking for you Horus.

Worlds beginning and ending....although I've never played, isn't each additional FF take place on different worlds with the first starting off with one dying and another beginning? I may be wrong....anyway-

here's one to go around and around...

Brain Drain, Mondo Bizarro, Acid Eaters, ¡Adios Amigos!, and Loco Live.

Have fun....!!!
