Disturbing "item" on eBay ...

Tiso if you tell somebody, "Hopefully you will win" it wont clear their thoughts into thinking that they will win. Instead it does the opposite it tells them, "If your lucky and im not around or any of the better players, then you will win."

Thats not really something somebody wants to hear, its either yes or no. Usually.

but thats beyond the point. Net-decking leads to no ware if you dont know how to use the deck.

and btw it is a kids game. I was watching GX the other day, [OMG i know... scary, i should and will never watch it after i watched it]

trust me show scared me... The kids have some serious problems with society. thinking the cards are alive and so on and so forth. I know its just a show but how many other people [not even kids now] take this serious.

ALOT, awhole lot take it like its some form of religion. its scary.

one of the lines ill never forget...
"DONT YOU EVER SAY DARK MAGICIAN GIRL ISNT REAL!!!" - Sho screaming at Myo[uh, chazz] lol

Because the show is marketed that way. We are led to believe that children in our society say "Get your game on" and has that type of culture with "chill" and "check yo gear homes" and so on. It really is insulting because we are being "dumbed" down based on our own country censorship laws and fear of the "little ones" having bad influences.

I find it even worse that in order for someone to win, they need a rich high school kid without any income of their own in order to spend 30 minutes with them, tell them how to think and what to put in their Deck, thus losing the identity they would have had. All this does is promote the idea that having fun means winning, and winning in a major tourney is the only true fun a duelist can have. Any less is not worth your time. I really want to meet some people who actually did this just to stand there and laugh at them. This is a sad day indeed. Is that what this game is all about now? The one with the most money is superior?

If it weren't for the listing fees, we could put out a BUY IT NOW for $0.00 to just come here for free advice from not only champions but a large collection of Level 3 judges to boot. Heck, we can even let them stay for longer than 30 minutes if they'd like.

Dang those listing fees! :D

Hmm. How much are those listing fees?

It varies. Depending on the starting price, which in this case is a fixed rate auction at $30.00 so that is not cheap. Then you have the % added on from the total that you will be charged as well.

Hehe, I don't know. I'm on my way out, but I find it funny and interesting. I mean I can sign up and pay fees to take raquetball classes, so I guess Yugi can count too 8^D

Well for one being a fellow Ebayer, I don't find it offensive what this guy is selling, but these days anyone will sell anything for a fast profit. These days anyone can sell pretty much anything on Ebay, recently some actually sold their SOUL on Ebay. Its really a matter of who is foolish enough to buy these NONSENSE auctions. Listing fees can be annoying at times, but are usually compensated by shipping fees.

The Yugioh anime is marketed for kids mainly, but for the most part teens and young adults are the main duelists seen in tournaments.
And with any great capitalist society the following things follow suit:

-Those with the most money are able to buy the cards in most demand, but sometimes cards that are underrated (usually commons) can turn the tide in tourneys.

-Capitalist societies usually favor the wealthy and the rich, unfair and cruel but very true.

-Konami is overall is concerned with direct sells of their products such as the video games, booster packs/boxes, etc.. The sells of seperate cards are indicative of how much players are willing to pay for them and appraisal values.

Dj there was once a guy selling a jar of irish air. I mean come on. Our air is no better than anywhere else except of course any major city cos their air is full of toxic gasses of many varying varieties.

So what. These kinda things happen all the time. What's wrong selling the rarest USA YGO card right now for big cash?

I remember a SJC Cyber-Stein being auctioned for 6000 bucks. (Don't know if anyone actually bought/bid on it)

I think MOST of us remember the first silly card that was auctioned from the SJC. That was ridiculous then and still is now.

There is nothing Valuable about it until no one else has it. Its not like auctioning a piece of gold, that is already valuable on its own without placing a price on it.

Maybe I'll ask around everywhere for all spare Firegrass cards, then destroy all but one of them. Then I'll be the owner of a unique card, and perhaps sell it on eBay for thousands.

Yeah, foolish idea, but I could probably pull it off if I tried.

I don't know about that- I always thought that "Londonderry Air" is quite nice?
*grin*

That's the point. Does rarity make for a valuable card, or do "we" determine how valuable the card actually is by the desire to possess it?

When Smashing Ground came out for IOC, it sold for less that $1.00 on eBay, and most TCG sites. Now, if you can find ONE for less that $10.00, BUY IT!!!

I had so many of them, I could put at least 3 in most decks I made, and I dont plan on selling them or trading them because I always liked how they played.

There's nothing wrong with making your money off the game, but once you start going into 4 digits without a period somewhere in between them, there's something a little wrong, because you have basically made a psuedo inflation in the value of the card, and will more than likely never feel comfortable playing it in a actual game, unlike owners of say, "D.D. Warrior's".

Will Des Volstgalph still be worth $1400.00 come this time next year? Remember when a complete Exodia Set used to sell for $400-500?

There is nothing valuable about a Yugioh Card. Its CARDBOARD, and in some cases, shiny Foil lettering and background, but that does nothing to make the card valuable.

Why is a piece of cardboard that has a man's picture on it so valuable then? Because, unlike a fictional character, there will ALWAYS only be one of them created, and when they are gone, there is nothing to take their place. All that came before them, and come after will either be less than, or greater than, but never the "same as", just like two snowflakes will never be the same. I value a "misprint" more highly than a card that is printed over and over and the only variation you may have is rarity, or ink color.

A Yugioh Card will only be as valuable as the game it belongs to exist. Once the game fades, so does the cards that once commanded a kings ransom to possess.

I'd pay money to breathe the same air Halle Berry breathes. :D <Wife smacks back of head> OW! Your supposed to be at work!

Im curious as to how metagame and Nick Curtis feel about this. After reading the auction, it makes it seem like Mr. Curtis is simply a chump who wouldn't have done well if not for the help of this miracle advice. :/ That seems...eh?

Metagame is probably a little uneasy over their praise of him now too. Will everyone they interview now go out and twist their words around for monetary gain? (and in such a foolish manner?) As much as it makes him looks silly, it makes Metagame look like a tool.

This little stunt makes the "champ" a less credible person, in my eyes. Anyone can win and still look like a clown. Just take a peek at who is the president.

How very season-one-Kaiba of you. Destroy all copies of a card so you have the only set... ;)

Watch out, next thing you know, you'll be talking to a golden eyeball...
