YGO Card Name Game

Wow! Once again...brilliant! But your conclusion is a little left field. So, yes, and yet, no. Right train, wrong caboose (What is it with the "train of thought" analogies? They have nothing to do with the card or clue and frankly DLOC, they are getting a little distracting!++Yeah, well maybe he'll follow the tracks back to the engine and find the answer++Now you're just being silly.)....Sorry, one of the voices in my head started a rant. I'm okay now. Not enough sleep.

I'm taking from this that I'm thinking along the right lines with The Little Mermaid. Mermaid cards have been guessed, but in the story she gives up her voice so she can gain legs.

Dark Spirit of the Silent
Silent Abyss
Aqua Spirit

" Anderson's shares something fantastic with this card."

I wonder if the "Anderson's" referenced is related to Anderson Windows. It could also be Anderson Coffee but that's REALLY stretching it...

In the lake, Harry "morphed" into something with gills and webbed feet/hands....maybe

Morphing Jar....?

Nope. Maruno has the right Anderson, and virtually everythign else, just not the right answer. (BTW, Harry used Gillyweed, but that has nothing to do with this puzzle, either) Man, you guys have been so close and yet...maybe my 2nd clue is too vague.

Okay...after reading "The Little Mermaid" (yes, I read the WHOLE thing...) and discovering in the end, rather than kill the prince she loves in order to return to the sea as a mermaid, instead jumps back into the sea where she turned into sea foam....BUT WAIT!!! There's MORE!!! She then feels the warmth of the sun and discovers that she is becoming a spirit of the air, SO.....

Radiant Spirit

Spirit of the Breeze

Hero Spirit (maybe....?) or lastly,

Spiritual Water Art - Aoi

Nope! Keep guessing, I'll be back tomorrow. Right now the only other help I can give you is this.

Maruno has the answer to both clues right here:
Maruno said:
Well, more directly, Hans Christian Andersen wrote "The Little Mermaid", which was adapted by Disney to remove all of the violence and death and plot and so forth.

Now the question is what card can say, "Yeah, that is exactly what happened, exactly to me."

Ceasefire
Forced Ceasefire

and my most probable guess:

After the Struggle -> After Genocide

Hmm...Well, I know that happened to Dark Ruler Ha Des and Ultimate Offering, but I also know Water Omotics was censored as well, so I'll try that.

Trial of Hell --> Trial of Nightmare

Because it really was a hellish trial Harry went through. He thought his friends and others were going to die in that lake.

And The Little Mermaid was censored, as was the card name. slither made me remember about the changing card names thing.

My final clue was going to be something like, Title:"Princess of Thieves" blushing, referencing a rosey Robin Hood's daughter Gwyn, but.....

Clue 1 was correctly ascertained immediately with a rush of cards with "Mermaid" in the title. However, this mermaid did not have mermaid in the title but WAS a mermaid. Clue 2 asked for something "fantastic" that it shared with (Hans Christian) Anderson's (mermaid). That also was alomst immediately ascertained as being that his creation was made into a carTOON by Disney (et al.).

However, nobody put the two together and said, "Hmmm, Toon Mermaid is a "fantastic" (toon) version of Red Archery Girl." I guess the card is just too old and unplayed. *tear* Nevertheless, the Train of thought has finally reached its destination. Congratulations HorusMaster, after I pulled that last one out from under you, you deserve this one.

Excelent props also to Maruno, who solve clue two completely and came oh, so close.

Your turn HM.

I thought of "Red Archery Girl", but without even the slightest idea of how the two clues could be connected perfectly having anything to do with the girl in my mind, I gave up. It wasn't a good enough answer to me, and even now the ties to the clues it has is vague and not very fantastic.

Well, I only came up with the second clue, because every other mermaid was mentioned except Red Archery Girl. Then it came to me that if I can build the tie to one of the other mermaids, maybe it would get you there. The ties were found quickly enough, but maybe no one has drawn the connection between the two cards before. I mean all the other Toons have their counterparts in their names, except her (and of course, if they ever did come out with the Rabbit from the anime, would we recognize it as a Toon Inaba White Rabbit? I would). Anyway, I sure enjoyed watching everyone's thinking processes.

Blah. I thought Red Archery Girl had already been guessed, which is why I didn't. I certainly knew about her, because I'm a fan of Toon monsters.

Perhaps I should learn the lesson of not sharing my thoughts with people I'm in competition with.
