er...um, no! You know, it's not as fair for you Brits, this clue, as it is for DJ. As you only have food you can't stand to eat when father Christmas comes mucking about. Still, we were still you when it all came about.

Sorry for the obviousness, but I'm off tomorrow at noon adn don't know if I'll be back on until Dec.1, so....
 
Okay, I'm back! Hmmm, no guesses, huh? Did everybody go on vacation? or did the move lose the thread? Oh well, here it is. Come on now somebody....think of a small something that isn't the real thing, but only a representation of what it should or could be and relate it to a holiday, like I did in my clue:

The turkey is dry, the 'taters are runny.
The cranberry's crusty, the stuffing is gummy.
The ham is half-baked and the cornbread's gone south,
But thanks to these small things; We still have our health!
 
Yes, all those things are traditional Thanksgiving fare, but as you see, they turned out, not as planned, therfore, only a "token" thankgiving, as was the grace "we still have our health. Speaking of, my Wife was terribly ill this Thanksgiving, so I had my four daughters cook the meal. It was a bit dry (even the gravy), but still delicious. The apple pie and strawberry pretzel desert were delectable!

That's going to be the Tri-Horned Dragon, then (assuming the "originals" means the LOB set).
 
Unless we go by the anime, then it would be either Dark Magician or Summoned Skull (which, with its 1 Tribute has always struck me as better than DM or REBD). Yugi would always have to boost it to wipe out BEWD.
 
if it's the origional series the strongest card was exodia.
so if exodia is the strongest the second strongest could be

5 headed dragon
but master of dragon champion is even in attack points

then theres blue eyes ultimate dragon
my guesses are

five headed dragon
master of dragon champion
because there both second strongest compared to exodia

blue eyes ultimate dragon because it's second strongest compared to both five headed dragon and master of dragon champion

i'll also say gate guardian which has an atk of 3750 which makes it second strongest to the blue eyes ultimate dragon and the black skull dragon which is second to the gate guardian as it has 3200

Okay, let's take this to another level (monkey boy don't think like folks who ain't been set aflame and shot out of no cannon), I would say that the Most powerful of the originals was Yugi, so (not counting moto v. yami) Kaiba would be the second most powerful, so my out of the box, left field guess would be:

Kaibaman!!

Something else to think about guys...he never said it was a Monster...

Yugi beat Pegasus, but Pegasus beat Kaiba. Technically he's the second best (until new cards were invented and plot devices written to make Pegasus keep losing).

Now, when you say "a certain 'type' of Monster", do you literally mean "TYPE", like Spellcasters are generally the most powerful (that's why they're the most banned), followed by Dragons, Fiends and Warriors; That "type" of thing? Or did you just mean "kind" and typed "type" as a typo?

I'll say, Blue-Eyes White Dragon ('cause he's my pet, and it hasn't been guessed yet) and
Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon and
Thousand Dragon (just for fun)
