Wow, talk about narrowing it down. 
And yet, I'm afraid none of those are correct. I'll do the prerequisite "look at the clue more closely" hint and give a few more a shot at it.

Somehow, I feel I worked way too hard on this clue only for folks to guess 4 to 8 cards at a time. Couldn't we have some kind of card limit rule, where your only allowed to guess two cards at a time or something of that nature? Otherwise, for the next riddle, I'm just going to post the entire RONIN database as my guess. And, yes, I already have a copy of it as a text file.

I'm going to say Bombardment Beetle was it.
That said, I had posted this in one of the rant posts I edited but in the interest of fairness, please have everyone follow these guidelines:
1) TCG Cards only. Most people will almost never think of an OCG Card and a good number of them won't even know where to find it.
2) While multiple guesses per post is ok (esp. if the cards are similar like Witch of the Black Forest and Sangan), don't go overboard because as DJ said (and as I said in the original rant), someone could simply post every card and win every time. I was thinking 5 max to keep it respectable, but after seeing how many people fired off guesses in 1 post... 3 max.
3) And remember, you're coming up with clues to 1 card.
Hopefully this way we can get back to just having fun figuring things out. Maruno, you're on the clock.

sorry i guess i did get a bit carried way guessing that many card games didn't leave many guesses for any one else.

I would guess the riddle answer Maruno guessed was Man-Eater Bug.....clue was "Would prefer one who doesn't devour the male after mating."
