YGO Card Reviews & Tips

This board is for everyone to put in their 2¢ in on cards. Please read the rules before posting.
Now here's a potential little gem in a LOT of decks. Especially those that play powerful monsters and are tired of having them taken with Snatch Steal, Change of Heart, Creature Swap, and as we've seen upcoming card(s) in the upcoming set(s) Having your monsters taken and used against you, or having someone hand you a Pyramid Turtle and kill it with your own monster only to special summon a Ryu Kokki or some such beatstick is devistating. Here's a card that lets you throw a real loop into your opponent's plans and I'm betting one they'll never see coming. You'll notice in the rulings some really intersting things....such as returning Lava Golem to your opponet's side of the field. Let the burn players chew on that one under Level...
Dark/Spellcaster/4/1500/1500 You can activate this card's effect only when "Necrovalley" is active on the field. When this card attacks, you can change the battle position of 1 face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field. My personal favorite of the gravekeepers. This guy's effect even works if Imperial Order or Spell Cancellor is the field. And what's best you can use the effect on the monster you're attacking. With Necrovalley on the field, beatsticks have to fear this monster, especially if there's a spearman around. Most attackers don't have such a good defense like Luster Dragon or Skilled Dark Magician. And a lot of tribute monsters have strong ATK but less than stellar DEF (i.e. End of Anibus, Skull Archfiend...
Spirit's Invitation Continuous Trap Each time your Spirit monster returns to your hand, select 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field and return it to its owner's hand. Pay 500 Life Points during each of your Standby Phases. If you do not, this card is destroyed. An interesting support card for your Spirit monsters. The essence of it has you paying 500 Life Points in exchange to likewise return an opponent's monster to his hand. You should at least be able to get the effect off once for free and since the payment is optional you can then sac the card. It's a nice way to offset the loss of field control. Again, good primarily in Spirit Themed decks.
Dark/Spellcaster/5/1900/1200 You can have only 1 face-up "Gravekeeper's Chief" on your side of the field at any time. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, your Graveyard is not affected by "Necrovalley". When you Tribute Summon this monster, you can Special Summon 1 monster that includes "Gravekeeper's" in its card name from your Graveyard. The leader himself. With him on the field, even if Necrovalley is on the field, YOU can still use revival cards like Premature Burial, Call of the Haunted and Monster Reborn. And when you tribute summon him, you get to special summon a Gravekeeper as long as its NOT another Chief. You can even special summon the tribute you used for him if its a gravekeeper. The downside to...
I would like to talk about soul release. Soul Release Effect: Select up to 5 cards from either you or your opponent's graveyard and remove them from the current duel. This card is underrated i believe I dont see many people sidedecking or maindecking. I played this card for awhile, and it is great card cause lots of decks rely on their graveyards. I know its not a card u wanted to draw for top decking. Still it is good card to sidedeck. Also since change of heart is gone, magician of faith will be coming back. So using this card is great against people with MOFs in their deck.
Inaba White Rabbit Spirit Monster (Beast / EARTH / 3 Stars / ATK 700 / DEF 500) This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn that this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned or flipped face-up. This monster attacks your opponent's Life Points directly. A Spirit Monster with a very simple effect. He can only attack your opponent's life points directly (in most cases, check the FAQ for the exception or 2). 3 Stars makes it useful in most decks. While the attack isn't great, it's almost like a re-usable "Ookazi" (700 instead of 800) and you can always pump him up with heavy hitting equips like "Axe of Despair" and "Mage Power" to really put a 1 time hurt on your...
Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi Spirit Monster (Pyro / FIRE / 8 Stars / ATK 2800 / DEF 2900) This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn that this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned or flipped face-up. If this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points, your opponent must discard all cards in his/her hand during the next Draw Phase before they draw. Well, he has all the same drawbacks as Yamata Dragon so no need to repeat those here. The effect though is much sweeter. Nothing like forcing your opponent into a top-decking situation. This makes him slightly more useful than Yamata Dragon for the price since if you were able to clear the field some and allow...
Dark/Spellcaster/4/1400/1200 Offer 1 monster that includes "Gravekeeper's" in its card name on your side of the field as a Tribute to inflict 700 points of Direct Damage to your opponent's Life Points. However, you cannot offer this card or another "Gravekeeper's Cannonholder" with this card's effect. Monsters used for a Tribute Summon or that are offered as Tributes due to other cards' effects are excluded. This guy adds a little burn to Gravekeeper decks. So even if the opponent is stalling, with this guy out, you won't really care. Just sacrifice gravekeepers with this guy's effect. You're getting bang for the buck with this guy than any other tributer. Cannon Soldier only deals 500 points of damage and Amazon archer deals 1200...
Magical Hats [TRAP CARD] Select 2 non-Monster Cards from your Deck and 1 of your Monster Cards on the field, then shuffle your Deck. Shuffle the 3 selected cards and Set them on the field in face-down Defense Position. The 2 cards selected from your Deck are treated as monsters (ATK 0/DEF 0) and are destroyed at the end of the Battle Phase. You can only use this effect during your opponent's Battle Phase I was thing about using this card in my fiend deck, in combo with archfiend of gilfer it could be highly useful. Also would be a good way to get fiends into the graveyard for necrofear. well its just an idea, wot do you guys think. forget it... miss read the card :/
Ectoplasmer [spell card continuos] SOD-EN043 Only once during each player's End Phase, each player Tibutes 1 face-up monster on his/her side of the field and inflicts damage to the opponent's Life Points equal to half of the original ATK of the Tributed Monster. Well i like this litte annoying card, great for getn rid of opponents monsters + with it in combo with malice the doll of demise, it can be really annoying
Trap Select 1 Monster Card that includes "Gravekeeper's" in its card name from your Graveyard and Special Summon it in face-up Attack or Defense Position. This card's activation and effect is not affected by "Necrovalley". We all know how cards like Monster Reborn, Call of the Haunted and Premature Burial are useless while Necrovalley is on the field. This card gives Gravekeeper decks an edge over the opponent while its in play. Unlike the revival just mentioned it CAN revive monsters from the graveyard. The only condition is that it must a Gravekeeper. Other than that go nuts bringing these guy back and back again. There's no restriction on this card and no costs either. Besides the usual trap negators, the one thing that...
Dark, Fiend, 5 stars, 1800 att, 1700 def, AND ONLY A RARE!!!!! Text: When this card attacks with an ATK that is higher than the DEF of your opponent's Defense Position monster, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points, select 1 card from your opponent's hand randomly and discard it. WHY DON'T PEOPLE USE THIS CARD MORE?!!! It's a fiend, and with the recent upsurge in fiend decks it's a great card to put in there. It's like an Airknight Parshath exept debatable better. It causes your opponent to discard instead of you drawing and it's attack is 100 less. The 100 attack makes a big difference with all the 1900s running around and...
Dark Magician of Chaos Effect Monster (Spellcaster / DARK / 8 Stars / ATK 2800 / DEF 2600) When this card is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned successfully, you can add 1 Spell Card from your Graveyard to your hand. A monster that is destroyed by this monster as a result of battle is removed from play instead of going to the Graveyard. When this card is destroyed or removed from the field, it is removed from play. Ok... I know most everyone was waiting for this one. Whip out "Dedication through Light and Darkness", offer your "Dark Magician" as a tribute and bring out this heavy hitter. Assuming the timing is correct, DMoC also has the added benefit of getting any spell card from your graveyard and returning it to your...
Dark/Spellcaster/4/1500/1000 When this card attacks with an ATK that is higher than the DEF of your opponent's Defense Position monster, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points. This gravekeeper is the trample monster of the group, obviously enough. To a degree its better than some of the other monsters that can automatically do trample damage. Its LV 4 so easily summoned by mystic tomato or the prefered summoning engine in a gravekeeper deck, the Spy. Granted it only has 1500 atk points. It won't last long without something backing it up and luckily Necrovalley gives it the boost it needs to go head to head with 2000 atk'ers. Course even at that strength you'll still need to look out for any...
Light/Fairy/Spirit/4/1700/1200 This card cannot be special summoned. This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn it is normal summoned, flip summoned, or flipped face-up. This card can attack all monsters on your opponent's side of the field. You cannot attack directly with this monster if you attack and monsters first. This is an interesting little spirit, and probably the third most playable. (Yata, Tsukuyomi, then this) It doesnt really need a spirit deck to use, but it does need some decent support behind it. 1700 ATK isnt gonna take out everything, yet you dont want to continuously equip cards to this card. The best powerup for this monster is easily Luminous Spark (and Bright Castle, but we dont have...
Card Text FLIP: Select 1 monster that includes "Gravekeeper's" in its card name with an ATK of 1500 or less from your Deck and Special Summon it in face-up Attack or Defense Position. The Deck is then shuffled. 1200/2000/4 a very cool and interesting monster even for a none gravekeeper based deck. some great speed. somewhat under used i think. a 2000 def monster that brings herself to the feild. very cool to just get out two 2000 def monsters. its a real pity about the "face up defense mode" part in the text. i used to run three in my exodia deck they were gppd fun. and won me my first tourney. you can use it with book of moon to reuse its flip. and seeing that it doesnt reset free keeper for you. dark clowns did pretty...
I recommend this card to all players. Probably known best as "2nd Change of Heart", and that's exactly why this card should see play. - Take notice that this effect has 2 options: + Changing the Battle postion of your opponent's face-up monster that is in attack position to defense position and/or vice versa. + Offer one monster on your side of the field, and take control of one of your opponent's face-up monster until the end of the turn. - Quickplay, spell speed 2 effect, a chainable card, works great as MsT, Heavy Storm, Dust Tornado bait. - Very nifty card if against Burn Deck types, your opponent plays Lava Golem, get rid of it with Enemy Controller and take control of one there monsters. + For those Lava Golem...
SPIRITUALISM: Normal Spell "Return 1 Magic or Trap Card on your opponent's side of the field to his/her hand. This card's activation and effect cannot be negated by any other card." Ok, Correct me if I am wrong, but is this or is it not an awesome card??? Sure It bounces the card back to the hand, but look, IT CANNOT BE NEGATED BY ANY OTHER CARD>..... Am I to assume that this also means the Infamous as of late Horus Lv 8 is not able to negate this either??? Someone please tell me I am dillusional and just think I found a MAJORLY OVERLOOKED CARD>... or was it Erratad and I am just ""Riding the short Bus""... Update.... I just looked at the Errata... NOT THERE>>>> Looked in the FAQ.... this is all there was...
I'm looking for some opinions on what everyone thinks of the higher up LV monsters. Guys like Horus LV 8, Armed Dragon LV 7, Silent Swordsman LV 7, Mystic Swordsman LV 6, etc. that are NOMI monsters. Is it worth running 2 of these in a Deck, or are you better off running only 1 and using Spells or Traps that can get it back into either your hand or deck? I guess what I'm saying is if you were building a deck around these monsters, how much of it and the supporting monsters do you play? Cause it seems to me that with running 2 LV7's or LV8's, 1 is likely to be dead weight in your hand. Any thoughts?
Spiritual Energy Settle Machine Continuous Spell As long as this card remains face-up on the field, all Spirit monsters remain face-up on the field and do not return to their owners' hands during the End Phase even if they are Summoned or flipped face-up. Discard 1 card from your hand during each of your End Phases. If you do not, this card is destroyed. If this card is destroyed or removed from the field, all face-up Spirit monsters must return to the owners' hands immediately. And here's one way to get around the "return to hand" drawback of the high tribute Spirit Monsters. With this card active on the field, all Spirit Monsters will stay on the field as long as you discard 1 card from your hand. Unless you have Sinister...
