YGO Card Name Game

No, all guesses so far are wrong.

If it was "over me" it would have read "o'er me", or something like that.

There's a synonym for the word "kreas" (meaning "meat") in Ancient Greek. A translation device would help really well here. Failing that, think about the origins of Duel Monsters.

Before carnivores get to the meat, they have to go through something else first. Get that, and then, if you're Feeling Lucky, you'll have your answer.

Okay, I'm back....Not much progress ,eh? Well there was Regionals yesterday and all, so...
I am beginning to think that either the clues are really good, or really bad. BTW, Maruno, thanks for covering. And I like your reference to "the origins of Duel Monsters". We believe that this should be a learning experience too. Let's see if we can't clear this Up a bit.......

Lion & Tiger & Bear, O'me. I may need more help.

We've discovered that what they have in common is that Lion is a carnivore and Tiger is a Carnivore and Bear is a Carnivore. But what we are looking for is a "carnivore" in NAME only, not in fact. And that in Greek (Carnivore is Latin). A direct translation is conditional on whether you translate Carne as stictly "meat" (krea), or you use the more archaic synonym as they did in Ancient Egypt-not krea-phagia, but _____-phagia, no, not "eso", but think of other words we use in english similar to that.

Once you get that, and the O'me (of me) and you will have it. The "I may need more help" will just confirm that you have the right one. Reallly doesn't help the clue much, I don't think.

Okay, good guesses on the Necro ("dead"), but incorrrect. And I hope that Oj is not a refernce to O.J. 'cause that would just be.....ew! BTW, future spoiler....Ojama literally translated means "Garbage". It's not any of those. Nor Gate Guardian.

Necro (dead)-phagia (eating) is not the correct one, but you have the right idea. It is an archaic, even biblical synonym to "meat". Also, there is a nasty virus, whose popular American name is known as this (I will give you the Medical name for it tommorrow at lunch--ooooh, tasty).

Maybe this will help. Okay, quick language lesson. As far as the ______-phagia goes..... -ia suffix is adverbial and -ial suffix is adjectival. You are looking for the noun suffix. If I gave you the example using the above "eso-" prefix, looking to what is common and found in any English speakers Dictionary (not to mention most European languages) you would instantly recognise the "esophagia" noun from any 5th grade health class.

Take that noun form and you should recognize what to attatch to the beginning. That will give you a card, that, hopefully will solve it for you.

Good Luck.

Oj is an ancient greek word for meat. (roman transliteration: ho)

I know meat-market is a different word completely but i don't know if their is a root in their for meat.

a virus? hæmatophagia? like in that movie (well they simplified it to hemophagia)

biophagia? (eats living things?)
zoophagia? (eater of animals?)

Nouns:
"The phage" as it was called in Star Trek
-phagy but 'agy' doesn't appear in any card
-phagocytosis would be a noun forms

Bio-Phage
actinophage is a virus...

Metamorphosis?

No, what was meant was that you should think of this virus (that people should have heard of), and then stick -phagia onto the end of it. Then that new word will point you to the answer.

The First Sarcophagus <I need more help seems to point to the one
The Second Sarcophagus
The Third Sarcophagus

Better say Spirit of the Pharaoh jsut to be sure.

Flesh in ancient greek is Sarx, a lot like SARS.

much better that that butterfly eating idea i had...

Ah, yes...the Flesh-eating Virus. Another (archaic) term for "Meat" is "Flesh". Greek = Sarks (origins of Duel Monsters) ergo, Sarco-Phagus (Flesheater-Carnivore)

Lion = 1st Sarcophagus, Tiger = 2nd Sarcophagus, Bear = 3rd Sarcophagus,

O' me = of me (mine). Who owns a Sarcophagus? a Pharoah! The Sarcophaguses call the Spirit of the Pharoah.

I may need more help = Spirit of the Pharoah CAN special summon up to four normal Level 2 or lower Zombies from the Graveyard.

Excellent work Blue Eyes!! Take it away!!
