Yes it is An owl of luck.

An owl can turn its head 270 degrees (either way) therefore if it turns all the way to the left it can look to the right.

270 factored into primes is 2*3*3*3*5

out of context i thought "bring us straight to it" resembled going to a place "as the crow flies": an owl could fly like a crow, and a new terrain (field spell) might be considered a new place.
